meet Tracy
a working mom who was always happy but wanted more
At 40, Tracy Caliendo had a demanding full time career and a wonderful 10 year old son when the yearning for a bigger family came into full effect. She unsuccessfully tried to get pregnant naturally. With the clock ticking, she turned to IVF. After 3 unsuccessful rounds and a miscarriage, Tracy and her husband explored surrogacy. Tracy was actually pregnant during the surrogacy process but given her journey thus far they decided a surrogate was the right option in case her pregnancy did not go full term. Fate decided to go along with their determination to grow their family. Tracy successfully carried her daughter Harlow to term and 4 months later the surrogate delivered not one but two baby girls, Piper and Presley!
"Our story is quite unique. We went from having one child to having five children in 13 months.”
Life wasn't done with the surprises
Three months later Tracy found out she was pregnant again! After the crazy journey to bring the girls into the world she was beyond happy to find out she got pregnant naturally. She, however, got another curveball thrown her way when Tracy learned she had placenta accreta, a serious condition where the placenta grows too deeply into the uterine wall. The pregnancy was extremely high risk. She was hospitalized at 26 weeks desperately trying to keep the baby in utero so that development could get further along. When the situation became life or death for both her and the baby, a team of 17 doctors delivered her son Dylan at 29 weeks. Because he was so premature he spent 8 weeks in the NICU and was later diagnosed with congenital scoliosis, a condition where the spine is curved. Despite his challenges, Dylan continues to defy the odds, is a true WARRIOR and a very happy little boy.
So herein is life now for this family of 7- a wondrous adventure navigating 5 kids, a 13 year old and 4 toddlers age 2 yrs old and under, living in the heart of Manhattan.
